Anyone have a suggestion for decent Chinese in the Saratoga area, or just decent Asian in general?

  1. No good Chinese in Saratoga. Mino's Japanese Bistro is pretty good, and Sushi Thai is also decent. Neither are great, though.

    1. Forget it.

      1. As of last year, there was no good asian food in Saratoga Springs. I'm pretty sure Mino's is no more (can anyone confirm?). I would not describe Sushi Thai as anywhere close to decent.

There are slightly better places in the Albany area (Japanese) but I cannot remember the names.

Mino's is still here; unconfirmed reports of a relocation, however.
If you want decent Chinese, it's worth the trip to Albany- CCK Chinese restaurant, 299 Central Ave.

I actually agree with you, Mike CP, but it has many fans. Mino's is now called Mino's Japanese Bistro and is on Rte. 9 near the middle school.

          2. I like Sushi Thai Garden. Last time there I had shu mai and a crispy duck dish. Good stuff. Yes, some dishes are rather un-asianized, basically ask a lot of questions and learn the menu

Thanks. Still have not been . . .

Sushi Thai Garden is pretty much it.

Drove by Chicory's today. Mino's still not there yet . . . big sign Japanese restaurant coming soon.

Mino did finally get his place, Satsuma, open last July. He also did some nice fusion meals with Paul Parker of the former Chez Sophie.

              2. Pacific Grill has just opened up -- it's just off Caroline -- and it's pretty fantastic. Huge array, from Thai to Sushi to Chinese. Pretty comparable to Sushi Thai, price-wise, but better atmosphere and food.
