Any rec's for eating/drinking at the Power & Light District? Thanks, ChowHounders!

The Mixx is now open there, and it's local and very good.

I have received outstanding customer service both at Gordon Biersch and at Raglan Road. At each, something went wrong with my meal and the management more than made up for it. For chains, I thought the food was much better better than average at both places.

Went last night to the P & C and to be honest, the place blows..
First of all, KC is a ghost town if there isn't thing going on at the Sprint center.
We had drinks at the Raglan Road Pub which was pretty decent but most things were chains and they were closed.

The best advice I can give about P&L is to go and have fun. Enjoy the adventure and the friendly people of Kansas City, and don't be afraid to talk to strangers.

I don't care for most at P&L, but I like Raglan Road (a bit pricey) - we had good scallops here and they pour a good drink - live music can be quite entertaining as well.

I didn't care for the margaritas at Tengo Sed. The pizza at Pizza Bar isn't very good. Avoid McFadden's.

The Flying Saucer is nice and laid back, Gordon Biersch is run of the mill "upscale" brewery food - the garlic fries are good, and Ted's is a decent, run of the mill burger/steak kind of place that has great housemade chips. 801 Chop House and Bristol both have great food, but are expensive. For a strong drink, Maker's Mark will do the trick, but it will set you back $10.

Most of the places at P&L are places you can visit pretty much anywhere else and don't offer anything particularly unique/worth a special trip, which is why most Chowhounders don't particularly care for/recommend the area, IMO.

Just two blocks south of P&L is a bar called Czar Bar, which can either be slow or really hopping, as they have live music virtually every night of the week. Worth checking into, as drink prices are fairly reasonable and the crowd is laid back.

for both eating & drinking, I consistantly choose Tengo Sed Cantina - they have a full guacamole bar with multiple avocado & ingredient options - kick back - have some margaritas & enjoy
