Rajun Cajun, Hartford/Windsor CT -- experiences?

I know this place through it's reputation as the spot for politcos to go and have photo ops with people in the North End.

Anyone have any experience eating there? Thoughts, recommendations?

Thomas Armstrong is a very nice man who learned his cooking in Louisiana. I have both eaten there and brought home food. But that was over 15 years ago when he had a little pIace over on Park Street. I was recommended to him by one of the social workers on our staff; I think she may have been related to him. (I'm kind of becoming nostalgic about going there -- I had not thought about it for so long, since retiring from my career in Hartford.). I recall going over one day mid afternoon, and wanting to bring some dishes home for dinner but not quite knowing what to order. So he had me come into the kitchen with him as he prepared two or things for me -- I remember a crawfish etoufee -- chatting all the time about how he had grown up down south and learned to cook in the Louisiana cuisine.

I thought his food was very good and very authentic. (We spent only a week in NOLA in 1996, and come to think of it, I did get Thomas's recommendations for places to eat there, none of them expensive but all very good.).

I've not been to the place he's in now but a quick web search seems to turn up positive comments. And now that I see where it is on the map, I think I'll plan on having lunch there the next time we're headed up to the Expo center for an event.

I've never heard of this restaurant. Having lived in N.O., I'll check for responses to this post. Would love a good cajun restaurant recommendation.
