Hi all - I just started working way over by the Hudson river, on 26th and 12th. I've been out a couple times looking for an after work spot with good drinks and some decent bar food / appetizers. Does anyone have a recommendation in this area? I'm thinking between 20th-30th streets, no further east than 8th ave. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The Frying Pan if it's a nice day.

    I am loving Ovest on W. 27th Street, btn 10th -11th.

3 of the best Basque/tapas places in the City are close:
    Tia Pol
    Txikito - 240 9th Avenue
El Quinto Pino - (def open all day) - 401 West 24th Street

    The Brewery in Chelsea Piers

Half King - great pub food, beer

    Co. - artisanal pizza

spanish/basque food in excellent in your area. i love el quinto pino (tapas and drinks). many others rave about tia pol and txikito socarrat (paella bar), when good, is very good indeed. i think apart from tia pol they all don't take reservations. but if you walk around the area it's perfect. just hit them before 7pm

you may have to walk just a few steps beyond 8av though
