freezing cheese

Can you freeze queso fresco? Thanks.

  1. NO! You can freeze it but you won't want to eat it after it thaws out.

    1. If you are going to cook with it, it really doesn't matter. Freezing changes the texture. Cooking changes the texture. I freeze cheese for cooking all the time, just thaw before using for cooking.

        1. Ummmm..not sure about queso fresco..but fyi..don't let cream cheese or cottage cheese accidentally freeze..it gets REALLY grainy...:( block cheeses like cheddars can be frozen..but use them in a recipe that melts 'em...not good for slicing/eating..... :)
