I know whole foods carries it-but at such a high price, makes it difficult to serve at a party.
any confirmed sightings at a specialty or other grocery store?

Trader Joe's sells "frying cheese"... I don't know if it's really halloumi, but it can serve the same purpose.

I think the frying cheese at TJs is juustoleipa and not halloumi

I love that stuff so much, and it is so common in the UK. I always buy a pack wherever I see it! Recently I bought some in North Park Produce and a while back I bought it in Venissimo Cheese. So delicious!
