El Tepeyac
I was listening to the radio this morning and they mentioned El Tepeyac, and they said that they were going to open another one, does anyone know anything about it? I know several years ago manuels son opened one in Monterey Park but that closed. Be interested to know if this is true or not, hope it's on the westside.
I know Manuel started it and his still there, but does he own it or I heard his daughter took over? TIA

there was also one that opened in chino hills a few months back. claimed to be part of the original - had the same menu. but service was horrible and it quickly went downhill from that. closed down a couple of weeks ago.

Correct, his daughter is now owner. He's usually there though, he lives next door. The Monterey Park location didn't do enough business and many complained the food was not the same as the Evergreen restaurant. Many years ago there was another location on Broadway in Lincoln Heights. Haven't heard about any others in the works.

Yes, it's still open. Manny's still there, but I think I heard the same, that his family took it over. Have not heard of another one opening.....boy my hubby would be soooo psyched if they did open one up on the westside!! Keep us posted, please!
