Milano's Sweet Pancetta - where in NYC is it FROM?

Pigeage May 5, 2010 05:12 PM

Hi 'Hounds - Hoping one of you knows the source for one of my favorite new finds. I recently bought some Milano's sweet pancetta from Murray's Cheese in the Central Market at GCS - a Google search for "milano's sweet pancetta NYC" turns up nada. Not that I don't want to patronize Murray's but does anyone have the 411 on whose this is and who makes it? All the Murray's label will reveal is that the pancetta is "made right here in NYC" (and I can't blame them for being secretive - it is a fine product). I did a side by side with some pancetta from Salumi - Batali's dad's joint that I order from in Seattle - and to my palate there is no comparison (with due respect). Cheers, P.

    Could be Salumeria Biellese.

Hi - I checked their website and the pics of their rolled pancetta looks totally different and is a smaller size diameter but thank you for the lead.
