quiet, inexpensive, intown
I'm hosting an out-of-town guest in Buckhead and am responsible for entertaining her one Friday night. It will be a party of 6-8. We are all clergy who work in social services and we are all over 50. So, it needs to a place that is both quiet and inexpensive in the Buckhead, midtown, Ponce area. Easy parking would be grand.
I've thought of George's, Manuel's and Mary Mac's but keep thinking there must be a better fit.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

I can confirm Au Rendez Vous is still on Windsor Pkwy, and last time I drove by appeared to still be in business (but these days it's best to call & check).
I was thinking of Toulouse because you said quiet. My father has difficulty hearing and is a picky eater, so this is a spot I take him because I know he'll be pleased. It's very quiet inside, has easy parking in back...down a steep ramp, then you walk up a few flights of stairs to get to the restaurant entrance in back. Entrees range $15-25. http://www.toulouserestaurant.com/›1 Reply-

Thank you for the recommendation. Toulouse was perfect! In the area, easy parking, great food, fantastic service, and we had a wonderful conversation. Their wine list was nice, too.
None of us had ever been there before but all of the locals will be back again I'm sure.
Thanks, again!

The place that popped to mind was Cafe Au Rendez Vous on Windsor Pkwy (a little N of Buckhead). I'm assuming it's still around, b/c it's been a long time. But it's French by way of a Vietnamese family. Nothing spectacular in the way of setting but good food and very off the beaten path. Anis would be the in-Buckhead equivalent, but it was full of loud Frogs the last time we went (for a late dinner). They insisted on smoking at the bar despite the ordinance.
Other places that might fit the bill are one of the Figo Pasta locations, the Colonnade, or Murphy's. The whole of Buford Highway is inexpensive if ethnic is an option.
