NC girls for a NYC Bachelorette weekend in June!! Need suggestions for lunch and dinner

All from North Carolina, we have a group of 8 girls coming to NYC in June for a Bachelorette weekend. I am MOH and am doing the planning, trying to make it as awesome as I can! We all are in our mid twenties and like the Meatpacking District vibe. To get a visual (we all love sex and the city) Looking for fun spots, not outrageously expensive- but places that are trendy/chic and in the moment. Here is the tentative plan- please let me know your suggestions- need all the help we can get!!

Friday night (the cheesy bachelorette night): Lucky Chengs (i have a feeling people are starting to laugh when they see this)- is this totally cheesy/touristy? I have heard mixed reviews- some people say its great, others say they wouldnt recommend it. Where would we go out afterwards (not farmilar with the area)?

Saturday brunch: Would love to find a cool spot where we could sit outside and enjoy the weather- maybe a rooftop restaurant? Mimosas would be great! This may be a good opportunity to save some cash- so nothing too expensive.

Saturday: Other than shop, any suggestions for a group this big? Central park?

Saturday night: Meatpacking district is really where we would like to stay. I was thinking Gansevoort Hotel/Plunge bar for pre-dinner cocktails? Then for dinner I have read a lot about Buddakan? Open for a change of plans/other suggestions!! How about fun/trendy clubs/bars for post-dinner in the area?

If we were to get a limo for one of the nights (staying in times square)- when would you recommend one? Saturday during the day or Saturday night? Figured it would be just as expensive as cabs for 8 girls- am I wrong? Thanks in advance for your help in advance!

I'm getting married in the city this summer, and one of my bridesmaids came up to go dress-shopping in April and we went out with another bridesmaid to Stanton Social. It was incredible. The food is delicious and fun and the atmosphere is perfect for a girls' night.

During the day you should go to the roof of the Met and have cocktails up there. They're a little pricey, but that view is amazing and in the summer it's so nice to be up there and see the trees in the park and enjoy the breeze that it's hard to get on the ground.

The LES is a fun place to go out, and it's definitely an area where you can just fall into bars that are packed ten to a block.

There's a restaurant on 2nd Ave at maybe 5th St that has fun brunch and outside tables called Frank.

You should check out Delicatessen to replace your Buddakan dinner. Six-fifteen really is way too early. Delicatessen is in SoHo,and has great food and lots of good cocktails this summer. You definitely need to get some truffle fries to share.

I'll let you know what else I think of! I live here, but I'm from NC, too!

    Have fun!

a couple of bar recs to consider...

I do like the Stanton Social for what you are going for, although I'm not sure that there are a lot of bars on the LES that will be super friendly to cheesy bachelorette antics, just because in my experience even if you are tourists they expect you to act like you're not.

There are plenty of other places beyond Buddakan although I do think it is a good fit for what you are looking for.

Thanks so much for the great suggestions!! I think I am canceling Lucky Chengs and doing Stanton Social instead... where would you go out afterwards if we were to do Stanton?

Good to know we shouldn't do a limo. Called Buddakan and all they have is 6:15 and 11pm reservations left! Im a whole month out... I took the 6:15 reservations- is 6:15 way too early?

How's the Water Taxi @ South Street Seaport? Was thinking about doing that if it's nice Saturday.

Want to give a shout out to The Lunch Belle, she has given great suggestions! Check out her website... http://www.thelunchbelle.com/

The water taxi at SSS is terrible. The one off 34th street is much better for an afternoon.
6:15 is real early for dinner. You will be done by 8 and then what?
After SS you can go anywhere that hood is packed with tons of good bars, people watching and sight to see. Just wander around.

Do your friends like clubs or bars? Do you care about the cost of drinks? That will help people suggest places in LES for Friday Night.

Saturday during the day if its nice out you could check out one of the outdoor bars like the Frying Pan or Boat Basin (eat beforehand, food is not good). Frying Pan is on a dock/boat at the dock and a cool place for day drinking.

Don't eat at 6:15. People don't go out for the night here until at least 11 so you will totally lose momentum in the night after dinner. Did you check out Spice Market for dinner on Saturday? Similar scene to Buddakan, focus is on scene and cocktails versus food.

L'Esquina one night would be good..I went to NY on a bachelorette party and we did the "Sex and the City" tour..it's a bus tour taking you to all places in the show. It was a lot of fun and good thing to do to see the city on an afternoon..

stanton social for fri night. great scene for a group and puts you in the lower east side for the night out; great for what you are looking for. buddakan is a solid choice for your 2nd night. good food and scene as well.

Can Lucky Chengs, there are better options

Def don't get a limo, will cost you a ton more than cabs and make it very obvious you're out of towners. 8 girls is two cabs worth. Times Sq to meatpacking is about $10 per cab.

Saturday Brunch there are more choices than you can count, if you're staying in Times Sq try a restaurant on 9th Ave, Marseille has a nice brunch and outdoor tables. After that Central Park is a great thing or head down town and ride the Staten Island ferry... no need to even get off in SI... round trip is a nice ride.

Don't get a limo. You will scream tacky tourists. Cabs are fine.

Cancel Lucky Cheng's immediately. Abysmal. Yes, it is cheesy, touristy, horrid food.
