Pizza in Waltham?

Heading to the Newton/Waltham area later today and am looking for a good place for pizza to go. I'd like to find a decent place for pizza in Waltham--I know about Franca's and the Chateau, but where else might I want to be checking out?

Probably not exactly what you were looking for, but Domenic's has pan pizza and it's great - made from the same dough as their (fantastic) bread. Worth trying if you haven't had it (although it's hard to go there and not also get one of their panini).

Funny you mention Domenic's. That would have been my first choice, but they close at 5:30 on Wednesdays, and I wasn't able to get to Waltham until 6:00 or so.

Thanks, everyone. I ended up going to Franco's. Excellent NY-style pizza that I would definitely get again, though I wasn't thrilled by the gang of kids eyeing my car as I walked in (I had my brand new laptop inside). But I really did like the pizza there.

Fiorella's is my favorite, but the pizza we get most often is from Franco's.

Sweet Tomatoes in West Newton isn't far. There's not a lot of seating if you're planning on eating there.

I agree with SC about Fiorella's as the best option.

Is Franca's still open? There was an article in the local paper several months ago about the family of Sal's the Family Restaurant, which burned down a couple of years ago, purchasing Franca's and reopening. I haven't heard anything since, though, and couldn't find anything online last time I looked.

There's an Upper Crust on Moody, too, if you like their style.

You could hit up Fiorella's. It's in Newton, but right on the line, near River St. in Waltham. Very good wood burning/brick oven, thin crust.
