Halal meat in Calgary

I'll be staying in Banff for a while this summer, and would like to go into Calgary to pick up some halal meat. Ideally I'd like to know of a place with a lot of variety that is convenient to get to from the highway coming in from Banff. Any suggestions? Thanks.

My favorite place that is actually reasonably convenient is Amir Meats in the Short Pants Plaza off of Memorial and 28th street NE. They butcher everything fresh, and use proper storage. Do a nice job, especially with lamb.

There is a store in Ranchlands that has halal meat for sale. It is called

There are two on Edmonton Trail. Take a right turn off 16th Ave, both shops are on the left side of Edmonton Trail.

One is beside Boogies Burgers, a tiny little hole in the wall.

The other is in the building next to a Tandoori Resturant in the 800block Edmonton Trail

Urban Baker and Diner Delux are on the same block.

The meat is generally in the walk in cooler NOT in the display cooler in both of these stores. You have to ask to see the meat you want. They will bring it out and cut it for you. Prices are not often written down so ask first.

There is also a cluster of Halal butchers in Falconridge.
