New Asian Market in Spokane

Just a heads up for Spokane Chowhounds.
There is a new Asian Market, primarily Korean, located on North Division.
The Asian World Food Market has a fair range of goods, including fresh, frozen, and packaged foods.
On my recent visit to this store they had fresh sliced pork belly, garland chrysanthemum greens, young radish, and fresh LA cut kaibi.
They also had a selection of prepared ban chan dishes.

The store manager gave me permission to take pictures, so I will take my camera for the next visit and share some photos.

  1. Thanks for the heads up hannaone - I'll have to let my mom know!

    1. Very cool! I'll be in Spokane May 20 visiting my mother-in-law. I'll grab a local fellow chowhounder and head up to the new Korean market.
I've learned since moving to the Seattle area how the Korean and Japanese cuisine use similar ingredients. I think my friend will be happy to find some ingredients she has been unable to find at the local groceries like Huckleberries and Rosauers.
Would you please post the address?
      Thanks a bunch.

I guess you can't see the link for some reason.

          Ah, ha.
Now I see the link. I had my window squished down when I first read and responded. Sorry !

Made a trip here with my Japanese mother. I'd say maybe 1/3 -1/4 of the items are Japanese. They have some staples that she always gets in Seattle, including konnyaku, fish cake, natto and sato imo. Nice to have a place like this closer to home.

        2. Finally, a reasonably good Asian grocer in Spokane--and way closer to us than the little joint way out on Trent that we used to trek out to!

          1. Finally got around to taking some pictures here.

So these are some of the things available at the Asian World Market.
