Help me with dining AWAY from National Harbor
We're in DC for six nights later this month. Three will be at Gaylord National Harbor, but I know from reading this board I DON'T want to eat there. We have a car. Help me with recommendations we can drive to... I do know we can take the water taxi ($16 each round trip) to Alexandria. We loved Restaurant Eve's tasting room on an earlier trip...

Alexandria is probably extremely convenient then. Well you could go back and have the decadent Lickety Split lunch at the bar at Restaurant Eve for $13 during the weekday.
I would also suggest the Majestic (same owners) for Southern/American or Vermillion for Italian. Brabo (way up King St though) or Hank's Oyster Bar for slightly casual but good seafood.
I assume you will be sight seeing so you might want to plan around where you will be?
Barrack's Row on Capitol Hill isn't too far from the Anacostia Freeway and has lots of good options too. Cava, Matchbox and a lot more is opening or has just opened. Sonoma a little further into Capitol Hill has great fish and wine and is cool and casual.
Instead of Restaurant Eve, you could do CityZen, it is right off 395. Or because you have a car you could hit the road a little and try some fantastic Vietnamese at Present or Four Sisters.
