Restaurant with good vegetables in DC

My brother and his girlfriend just came back from 18 months in China yesterday and are staying with me in DC for a few days. When I asked what they wanted for dinner tonight (I'm thinking Matchbox, Lauriol Plaza, Cafe Asia) they reply...somewhere with "good vegetables"
So now I am stumped. Any recommedations? Help is greatly appreciated!

  1. I actually really like all the vegetable sides at Tacklebox. They are just simply grilled, but very good.

For a nicer place you might try Palena. I also think Founding Farmers and Farmers and Fishers while weak in many things have pretty darn good veggies, even in their pot roast the vegetables weren't mush and were very good. And there is the spinach at Rasika and lots of other veggie options.

If you are willing to venture to VA, I think Liberty Tavern has great salads and veggies.

    Rasika Restaurant

    Founding Farmers

    The Liberty Tavern

    1. The fastening platter at Etete has lots of good, tastey vegetables (lentils, collards, carrots, etc.). Also Rasika has pretty amazing vegetable side dishes, as well as some vegetable curry entrees I think.
