Early bird specials?

Where are the early bird specials in the East Bay? Since Trader Vic's just closed, my foodie friend and I need some place else to hang out.

And? Adesso has a groovy happy hour spread...used to be early (5:30) and late (10ish.). They don't have a special menu for early diners per se. Marica is nice place with good food and a great neighborhood vibe. $21 prix fixe before six and happy hour drinks and apps all night.

I don't think they have an early bird special but Spenger's Grotto has a happy hour menu that gets good reviews and they have an excellent bar. The rest of the menu doesn't do as well but it's not that bad for the right reasons (Father's Day, etc.).

I love going to Trader Vic's, but wouldn't exactly consider it a foodie destination, more a place to just escape from life for a few hours

Trader Vic's Emeryville is closed until September. They say they will having a "grand re-opening" then. I really, really hope so. I thought the place was perfect already. I hope they don't screw it up.

Not exactly an early bird special but you could make a meal at T Rex happy hour. Early bird at Marica.
