Any one know of grocer with soft-shells in PDX?

Soft Shell Crabs are from Blue Crabs which are just done molting, so their shell is well...soft. Considering Blue Crabs are native to the Eastern Sea Board; I doubt anyone on the west coast would have them fresh. Since they are pretty hardy little suckers, you might be able to overnight them from the East Coast.

Oddly enough, we just had soft-shelled crabs earlier this week at Beaker and Flask--I'm pretty sure that they were from the east coast.

Yep they're all from the east coast. I used to find them at gourmet grocers down in LA, so if they can get them there....Otherwise I guess I will have to order them direct from the East Coast.

Someone is getting them, they are on menus in town. I think Paley's is serving them...you can always call and ask...

We lunched at 50 Plates this past Sat., they were serving Soft Shell Crab sandwiches, I had the Ispwich Clams from back East which were awesome! :)

The only place I've seen them out here is Fubonn...The "live" part was debateable. Let us know if you have any luck.
