one night in Philadelphia

I will be in town on Wednesday for a business meeting, staying at the Radisson Plaza-Warwick Hotel. Anything interesting within walking distance or a quick cab ride? Not looking for expense-account entertaining, but not budget-conscious either. Some place with good local beer would be nice.

If local beer is what you are after you are in luck as Philly is Gonzo for craft beer. Your Hotel is not far from Nodding Head which also has decent food. www.noddinghead.com‎. If you are into Belgian Beer there are probably at least three places in Center City (Monks, Brigids by the Art Museum, and the one on 2nd Street in Old City which I am spacing the name of).

Lots of places within a short walk of your hotel. If you want something in a gastropub, I'd check out either Good Dog on 15th, between Walnut and Locust, or Pub & Kitchen at 20th and Lombard. Both have good food and local beers.
You might also enjoy Tria on 18th and Sansom, a beer, wine, and cheese bar.
Monk's is often the rec for great beer and eats, although I find them to usually be crazy busy and the food can be inconsistent.

You are close to Fish, at 17th and Lombard. This is not a gastro-pub, it is an excellent restaurant if you like fish and/or seafood. Nothing else on the menu. But the food is superb. We liked their choice of wines and beers. I really don't remember if there was a local beer, but I would think you would want food that is special. Casual, as are most places lately.
You can look at their menu online.
