Wow. I recently chose between them and Zuppa for a big occasion. Sounds like I made the right decision, Zuppa was excellent.

Wasn't it Chart House? And yes, the food was mediocre.

I was wondering also - were you disappointed with Harvest on Hudson in Hastings? I've been there several times and have always enjoyed the food and the venue.

But it's a different story for Half Moon in Dobbs Ferry (formerly Chart House). I've found the food there to be mediocre and overpriced.

I've been to both many times. The only reason to go is to see the incredible views. The service is good, parking is easy but the food is just not enjoyable regardless of the price. Yes this applies to both Harvest and Half Moon.

i've been to both Harvest and Half Moon. I enjoyed Half Moon more, but that's not saying much. They are both overpriced with mediocre food. Go for drinks and the views

I agree with you intrepid the food is mediocre but the service is usually very good and the atmosphere is great. I want this restaurant to be great but I cant say it is. Do you know of any other restaurants that has the atmosphere to match Harvest? I would love to check it out. Thanks.

Half Moon is pretty decent IMHO. Hardly overpriced, lots of reasonable priced entrees and also very good value pasta & burgers. Always dream about their angry calamari salad, best I've had! And the view is awesome, you're just about IN the river!

Other nearby waterside restaurants are very pricey, you are paying for the location.

Are you talking about Half Moon? This is a beautifully renovated space, walls of windows, designer lighting fixtures, high design tables and chairs. Outside furniture is top quality and design as well. I could see a qualm with the food, it's variably decent, but the ambience and atmosphere are indisputably fabulous at Half Moon.

I think Harvest is a pretty place, especially when the garden is in bloom and at the holidays but the food has been inconsistent and as of late I'm hearing negatives about the service more then anything.

Had a very nice lunch at Harvest on Hudson recently - not that a salad is all that complicated. Service was fine, we had a lovely table. Haven't eaten dinner there in a long time. Then went to Half Moon about a week later on a Saturday for early-ish dinner. We ordered broadly across the menu, from steak to seafood, apps to dessert. Service was great, and the food was high quality all around. Pitcher of rose sangria was a treat, too. As with all restaurants, I suspect they've got some dishes down, and others are not stellar.
