Quick - Sunday Afternoon (tomorrow!) Birthday Advice Needed
We're trying to have a special birthday outing for five adults and a baby, centered around the baby's nap time. When she wakes up from her afternoon nap (around 3), we'll rush off to "linner" (lunch/dinner) before her 6 p.m. bedtime (mom is birthday girl). Looking for someplace a little bit special, very vegetarian friendly (birthday girl is vegetarian), and generally eastside (Hollywood, Los Feliz, Glendale, Silverlake, Eagle Rock, Echo Park).
So again, the parameters are:
1. Open between lunch and dinner.
2. Great veggie food (and a little bit special)
3. Big enough to be able to get a table without a reservation and not too much wait.
4. Baby friendly enough to not freak anyone out.
5. Generally eastside.
Great places that would meet #2-#5 are, in order of preference: Fatty's; Street; Little Dom's. Alas, they are not open between lunch and dinner.
A place like Home would meet #1, #3 and #4 and #5, but the food is not so amazing and it's not a little bit special.
Maybe there are some new places that have opened up in the past year that I'm not thinking of.
Help please :).

I really lke Masa in Echo Park and I think it would meet all of your criteria. Very friendly to babies, vegetarians and the people who love them. Good food. Another place I really like, although others may diss, is The Brite Spot. I love the funky coffee shop decor. There are lots of vegetarian items and pretty incredible desserts. Just 'cause my kids practically grew up there, I will note that Barragan's has a number of good vegetarian entrees. I like the calabacitas there a lot and I always found the margaritas counteracted the baby. In my opinion the food at all three of these places is way better than Home, the restaurant, not my home....
