The author's obviously have never been to Grand Marais, MN on the Lake Superior North Shore to have the World's Best Donut, a venison scramble at the Wild Onion Cafe, an Angler's breakfast with walleye at Blue Waters Cafe, the Sporto triple meat omelet at South of the Border Cafe, muffin tops at the Java Moose Coffee House or an eggs benedict at the Pie Place. :)

BTW, the Hell's Kitchen in Duluth is no longer Hell's Kitchen. It is now Hellburger (same owner) and doesn't open until 11 AM. No breakfast.

I don't know anything about the first three. There a thread on the Minneapolis board titled "Restaurants everyone else like but I don't", or something like that. Hell's kitchen has been mentioned many times on that thread.

Any "list" not ranking Travis Hamburgers in St Clair Shores, and WeekDay Cafe in Eastpoint, MI. is useless.

Yeah, I saw this list before....and thought that any list that had Walker Brothers but didn't have Franks Diner in Kenosha was bunk. Also didn't like the chains listed at the end. It's as if they got lazy.

They lost all credibility with me on those last three.

My personal favorite "Brunch/Breakfast" was at the Publican in Chicago.

I'm sure they did not include places (like the Publican) that are only open for brunch/breakfast on Sundays and not during the week.

I am sure you are right....but that it is sad. Saturday and Sunday sadly are the few days a week I get Breakfast. I am pretty damn certain I am not alone in that.

If it were an article about "best Sunday brunch", I would agree. But an article about "best breakfast places" ought to include places open for breakfast 6-7 days a week. If a place is only open for brunch on Sundays, it's really not a breakfast place, IMHO.
