What else am I missing in Baltimore?

I just went to Trinacria the first time today. It is shameful--I go to the University and park at Lexington market! I've driven past it many times; its outside is so unpreposessing. Finally I stumbled inside and discovered the wealth of Italian foods--good pasta, amazing bread and wine. Then I ate the sandwiches and thought I may die from happiness. All this and cheap as well.

I feel like this exemplifies a lot of Baltimore--not showy, but just plain good. Often, one needs to be clued in to these little gems. I wanted to mention one of them, and to find out other places that I may be missing because I am simply walking by them. Ideas?

There are a couple quintissential Baltimore eats.

pit beef - i prefer pioneer to chaps

berger's cookies - found in lexington market

crabcake - found all over the area and @ faidley's in lexington market

pizza - either matthew's or iggie's. matthew's is more like a buttery pan crust compared to iggie's thin gourmet pizza

corned beef sw - the famed corned beef row on lombard, there are 3 places: lenny's, attman's and weiss

there's also a greek area of town, samos does gyro pretty well but i think the best gyro in the area is at "never on sunday"

A small hard-to-miss restaurant with the absolutel best cheese steak in Baltimore.

Just order a Steak & Provolone. It needs nothing else on there, unless you wish to be wearing it.

There's three corned beef places, but Attman's is FAR superior to the others.

For Greek I'll take Zorba's (on the other side of Eastern from Samos). No gyros, but spectacular grilled meats and fish.
