Looking for GREAT Casual Diner - Laconia and Manchester

r
RRANDY Apr 29, 2010 03:03 PM

Have some quick business that will have me one night in both the Laconia region and in Manchester.

Would appreciate recommendations for a great (food 1st/experience 2nd) casual dinner experience for both those areas. Have always made "Canoe" Center Harbor a must, but looking for something new. Don't ming too much of a drive.

Saw several recommendations on this board but wasn't sure how recent/relevant the info may be.

Also I've never stayed in the Manchester area.

Thanks In Advance.

You'll love the view in Gilford and the food at Lyon's Den. Although I have enjoyed the food at Canoe, I refuse to go unless it's a family get2gether, because the service is just miserable!!!

Another great one, is LemonGrass in Center Harbor.

Have fun, I'm in both areas often. Manchester has a lot to offer. Last week I went to Richard's Bistro twice for lunch - fantastic food although I'm not sure it's the type of place to hang out at the bar.

I haven't been back since Tom expanded the restaurant, but Z Food and Drink in Manchester is a lot of fun. He's put in a piano bar, and there's live entertainment now. If you're up for a splurge, the lobster risotto is incredible. http://www.zfoodanddrink.com/home.phtml

There are many dining options in Manchester--what did you have in mind?

Always enjoy a great microbrew selection. Don't mind good brewpub food. Like something with some local flavor. Not really looking for Italian (seems too much these days) . . . . Some place with a really good kitchen, but I amm on a travel per diem.

You'll definitely enjoy the Strange Brew. It has a huge beer menu and great burgers. Good music later at night, too.
