Rodeo Burgers Edmonton

This place just opened, and I am burger crazy, so when I happened to be hungry and nearby it seemed like destiny.

I liked this place a lot. I'd say it's the best fast food/thin patty style burger I've had in recent memory. Maybe ever. Better than the following for sure: In-n-Out, Burger Inn, Peter's, Wendy's, random diners.

They get their buns fresh daily, and it showed. In fact, what impressed me about everything in the burger was the freshness. I got my first taste of fresh tomato flavour for the season in there! The lettuce was a grade above the average iceberg filler too. The rodeo sauce was decent, and the burger was fairly messy (for those who grade them that way).

The homemade relish added some nice zazz to everything. They say their toppings and sauces are made fresh as well, but I don't know which are included in that - I didn't question whether they are making their own ketchup or anything crazy like that, but I doubt it. They do make their salsa and guacamole fresh though.

Burgers are $5-6 for a single, and worth it I think. They claim to have amazing fries (again homemade), but I didn't try them. I will leave that for a future reviewer.

Beware the veggie burger is horrid--it's mushy and bland. It's made entirely of mushrooms with no grains/legumes/beans so it's basically canned mushrooms on a bun. There are no other veggie options so vegetarians are out of luck. The fries, however, are divine!

Better than In-n-Out....I am in Edmonton on Saturday. Have to check this place out now.

Just got back. It's worth a stop. It really is. Order a double patty though, so you got some substance. The toppings are fresh, the bun is excellent.
          Fries are good as well.

Burrito Libre, next door, same owner as Rodeo Burger, is the best Chipotles copy north of the border so far (Good gluten free option), beats Mucho Burrito by a mile.

And you didn't share with me? You could have brought me one but I'm assuming you went after we met up....

              Hey anonymoose.
It was a toss up between The Dish or this place. Next time we go for lunch.

Tell me, did you eat a Brownie?

Not yet - will be on the long weekend when I taste the Patisserie's goods.

Ranking In-N-Out with Burger Inn, Peters', Wendy's and other "random diners" is not a great comparison in my opinion. That being said, I will check out Rodeo Burger the next time I'm in Edmonton for sure... it sounds good!

I went there a few weeks back, since I've been getting flyers and seeing it on the bus on my way home from work.

The green chili sauce they put on the burger is pretty awesome, and yes, it is a messy eat.
The fries are good. Homecut, a little too salty once you make your way through a pack of them, but good.

I've never heard of Rodeo Burger, but it looks like it's only been open for a month or so (from my quick google search). Be interesting to see some more reviews; and with it's location so close to the UofA, it'll probably be pretty popular.
