Lunch Near Gare d'Austerlitz?

Arriving CDG at 11:00 am and departing from Gare d'Austerlitz at 4:00 pm. Should our arrival and trip to the station go smoothly we may have enough time for Lunch. My luck dining in the vicinity of train stations has been consistently poor, and wondering if anyone has any recommendations within walking distance of the station. Or, if time is short, somewhere we can get a baguette, a wonk of cheese, bottle of wine to take on the train.

Thanks!

  1. There's a Viet Namese place across the street called Xinh Xinh that I like and a resto across the street that two of my best food writer pals think is great - les Delices De Shandong (88, bvd de l'hopital (that I did not score at, but which does takeaway, suitable for the train)). L'Equitable used to be good but with baggage it's too inconvenient.

Besides JT's food writer pals, I am also huge fan of Délices de Shandong.

The poster also take the RER direct and get out at St Michel, have a nice meal at Le Reminet, then take the metro at Maubert which gets to Gare d'Austerlitz in 10 min. Better reserve though.

        Third Délices du Shandong.

My hope is to drop bags at the station, and then venture out. So I suppose a short metro ride or taxi would be fine, time permitting.

        Thanks!

In Paris downtown, a taxi or direct metro amunts to the same travel time.
I understand your concern re dropping off your luggage.
The best is if there were a great eatery in front of Austerlitz, or within walking distance...
Waiiiiiiiit a minute. Did we all forget Le Quincy while concentrating on Left Bank solutions?
It is just a 10 minute walk on the other side of the Seine!
It is a bistro much loved by this forum. You can easily search info on it.

          Must reserve of course duh.

If you arrive 11am CdG, count on arriving Gare d'A no earlier than 1pm, unless you go through the diplomats' counter.
          Best book for 13:30.
If you have flight delays - let's pray not, - best to cab to restaurant with your luggage, then walk for 10 minutes to station after lunch, instead of arriving substantially later than 13:30.

Well, if that's now the plan, as convenient across the bridge is Biche au Bois.

      3. It's not across the street, exactly, but l'Agrume would be under ten minutes by foot, I think.

Or you could take the RER-B from Gare du Nord to Saint-Michel and eat around noon at one of the many good restaurants nearby (Le Comptoir, Les Bouquinistes, Ze Kitchen Galerie, Le Pré Verre, Itineraires, l'AOC..) and then take the line 10 directly to Gare d'Austerlitz. I think if you eat around noon you should have no problem making a 4:00 train from a station that's no more than a 15 minute metro ride away.

Well, if we're going to break the OP's request to be "within walking distance of the station" I'd agree l'Agrume is the place. Call now, however, for a rez.. It's hot and it's great.
