Suggestions for Penn St OR Chelsea-Early Dinner?

I'm desperate for some advice; I need to find a place that will seat a large party (8/9) at, 4/430 for dinner and, some members can't have particularly spicy food. Thinking American, Italian, etc. Ideally, in the $35-45 range per person; W Vill & Garment District will be good if nothing fits in Chelsea. Trestle on Tenth or, Red Cat would be great if only they opened a little earlier!

Edit: Anything near Penn Station is helpful too!

Thanks for your help!

Just trying to keep peace in my picky family :)

  1. Bar Breton, on 5th Av., b/t 28th & 29th Sts., has delicious food and very nice ambiance. It's spacious enough to accommodate a large party, and I believe they stay open all afternoon.

    Bar Breton photos:

    1. Del Posto opens at 4:30 on weekends and 5:00 on weekdays.

It's out of your price range if you go the tasting menu route, but you can keep it around 45 a person if you order a la carte.

According to YH, Del Posto has the best steak tartare in the city.
