Recommendations for Ethiopian food in Manhattan

jb41 Apr 28, 2010 07:41 AM

I know there's already a thread for this but it's quite a few years old. So where is the best Ethiopian food in Manhattan today? We're looking for something authentic, but beyond that just want good food. Also, helpful if you can recommend some dishes at the restaurant. Thanks.

Zoma. Order the vegetarian combo and a meat dish or two. Much better than Awash, Meskerem, etc.

love Queen of Sheba. Much better than Meskerem or the Red Sea (another Ethiopian restraunt that recently opened in Hell's Kitchen). Highlights at Queen of Sheba- quanta firfir (beef jerky); gomen wot (collard greens), and gored gored (rare meat). Delicious!
