Cuisinart Rotisserie
My mom's had her eye on the Cuisinart rotisserie and today I saw Williams-Sonoma is offering a $50 gift card as a rebate with the purchase of one. Has anyone tried this particular item? I know several posts on the board recommend using a rotisserie with a grill but I'd really like to know how this gadget works.

My mom has one of these as well and I certainly gave her a load of flack when she first bought it BUT after using it over a year I will say it makes a really delicious roast chicken. It's perfect every time and in contrast to what JK said, cleanup is super easy. I usually save the pan drippings and then give it a quick rinse or throw it in the dishwasher and that's it. The inside of the oven is still very clean after a year of weekly chickens plus occasional kabobs, roasts, or fish in the basket. I've even roasted whole eggplants in there for baba ganoushe. It's also been great for larger gatherings because it free's up the oven. Overall, although I couldn't justify it for the price, for the right person I do think it's worth it and it works very well.

My mom has an older one of these. The main novelty of it is that dinner spins as it cooks. It produces results identical to an oven, and is much more of a pain to clean up. The only reason I can see for wanting one is if you make gyros from scratch on a regular basis (in which case you already have a rotisserie), or if you live somewhere hot and would like to oven-roast chickens in summer without heating up the whole house by turning on the oven. I'll just take my chickens out to the grill and be happy with that.
