Taking my three boys to the TFC/Montreal soccer match tonight. They love Indian food - Best original Indian in Toronto please - not too far from the BMO field.

Don't know where BMO field is but I would recommend Banjara for northern Indian and Madras Masala for southern Indian. Both are located at the SW corner of Christie Pits (Christe subway station is a 5 minute walk away).

Thanks - they are not too far - How about TTIMURTI OR little India - are they in the same league?

I've heard good things about Trimurti but someone else would be more qualified to advise on it and Little India.

I stand by Banjara and Madras Masala based on the consistently fine meals I and my dining companions have enjoyed at both places.

For something quite different from all the other places, and also authentic, you could try Maroli.

It's near Palmerston and Bloor. Not close to BMO field, but close to some of the other places that were mentioned.

Second Maroli, big time. Excellent food and the spice quotient won't overwhelm kids.

Excellent point re spiciness. At both Banjara and Madras Masala you will be asked while ordering what your heat tolerance is and the food will be seasoned accordingly. Also, the wait staff know their cuisine and are willing to suggest dishes if you ask.

Maroli is another fine choice and their menu focuses on the cuisine of the Malabar coast region of India.

I live pretty close to BMO Field, and I can tell you that there is NO really good Indian restaurant "not too far" from there, if by "not too far" you mean within walking distance.

The closest place is Taste of Tandooree ar Queen & Dufferin, which is passably decent for a cheap take-out meal, but not for a proper sit-down dinner.

The suggestions you've gotten above are probably your best bets, even though they will involve a drive or TTC trip afterward.
