Upper West Side restaurant with street seating for lunch?

Any recommendations would be appreciated. Nothing too fancy/pricey, but nice with at least solid food works well. It's for a casual date - thanks!

Don't know if this works because it isn't truly street seating but it is outdoors, the terrace at Jean George, great food, great location, great deal at lunch.

nice matin-79th and amsterdam, french and american- really nice staff and good food. also bar boulud on broadway between 63rd and 64th, again french and american, fantastic food and service. also agree isabella's is a good choice for lunch.

When I went by Bar Boulud over the weekend, there was (temporarily, I assume) no outdoor seating, as the sidewalk on that block was being worked on.

Yes, they've been working on that whole block for weeks now. Jackhammers and everything. There's been no seating outside Cafe Fiorello either or the others on that block (like Josephina's). I think everything on that block has been brought indoors, because, really, who'd want to eat amidst the noise and dust.

i did see the construction a few weeks ago, but havent been in that area since then so i had no idea it was still going on, or how long it is going to last.

I think the construction is going on until at least mid-June, it's been really noisy around here.

Other ideas for outdoor dining, up on Columbus between 68/69th there's a Pomodora's with the outdoor seating and then more of a Bistro type restaurant, the name escapes me right now, about a block South.

Agree with Ann900; e.g., you could start at 79th and A'dam and walk north and have at least a dozen choices. If it is a weekend, expect a wait unless you go v early. Two notables on Columbus are Isabella's and Ocean Grill (www.brguestrestants.com); " food, but check to make sure they take reservations for the outside seating. One block to the park. Of course, if you don't need a street, you could check out the Boathouse (www.thecentralparkboathouse.com); forgetable food, damn good view.

Boathouse would be perfect for a date. I've never been really impressed with the food, but it is solid. If the weather's nice, you can go row-boating after and that's pretty romantic.

There are scores of UWS places with sidewalk seazting. Some idea of price range and favorite types of food would help us.

Sorry. Italian, French, or American. If entrees are in the $13-$20 range that would work well.

edit: And ideal location: Closer to the park the better and in the 60th street to 85th street range.

I think Cassis may have outdoor seating, and I had a good (not stellar) lunch there recently.
