Looking for Banquet Chinese in Honolulu

michaelyee Apr 27, 2010 02:24 PM

Aloha—

I'm looking for a great Chinese restaurant in/near Honolulu that does banquets for a wedding rehearsal. Maybe just 3 or 4 tables but quality is paramount, even more than ambience or location. (Host is old-school Cantonese) I've searched the boards and have come across Royal Garden and Legend but not having been to Oahu in 10 years, I am totally out of the loop. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks so much.

Pah Ke's in Kaneohe is a safe choice on the Windward side, but they don't have banquet rooms and parking can be tight. There should be adequate parking for Legend (Chinese Cultural Plaza) and Royal Garden (Ala Moana Hotel) :

Panda Cuisine is in Honolulu on Keeaumoku St., may be more centrally located for you. Parking is under the building, which it shares with other restaurants so parking may also be an issue.

happy day in kaimuki, little village noodle house downtown will both do preordered events for this size, i would also consider On On in McCully, although it doesn't have the same reputation as the others.

Legend in Waikiki has good food and at least two banquet rooms of different sizes.
