Rhubarb in Downtown Toronto
Anyone know a grocery store in downtown Toronto that is currently selling fresh rhubarb? I believe it's in season, but I can't find it anywhere!
I don't think it's quite in season yet. Mine in my back yard is just poking out. That said, I have seen some pale variations at the fruit/veg stores along Bloor st in Bloor West Village.
I got some at the SLM north market this past week-end, my guess is that the produce vendors in the south building would have some too. The stuff growing in my backyard is still a couple of weeks away from being abundant enough to harvest some and eat. If you have a sunny patch where you can plant some I highly recommend it, it's very easy stuff to grow!
I've also seen some at the fruit/veg market on Bloor and Manning.
I also saw it at Fiesta Farms, probably about a month ago.

They had Rhubarb at Loblaws (Christie & Dupont) on Sunday...give them a shout before you go as they generally have a limited quantity (ask for Produce Department) when you call .
BTW,,it looked great, lovely red medium size stalks!
