This recipe appears to be French and has almonds as well as chocolate and rum:

The only thing I have that is remotely close is a marble rum cake, which is actually a brioche. If you're interested, let me know and I'll paraphrase the recipe here.

Your suggestion of the Eagle Rock Bakery & Deli was right on.

Ordered a custom 8” “French Chocolate Rum Cake” and it is almost like Sarno’s.

The icing/frosting is chocolate fudge, good but not exactly like Sarno’s.

Substituted the pineapple filling with vanilla and the alternate filling layer is chocolate.

Maybe a little too much Rum on the cakes, but it works.
