50th Birthday in Buffalo

  • 3

Hi everyone,

My mom is celebrating her 50th birthday on the Friday before Memorial Day. I'd like to do a little surprise dinner for her at a great restaurant in the area...I'm from Buffalo, but have been living in New York for 5 years so I'm a little out of touch :)

Something that would be special enough for a 50th birthday...some of the ideas my dad and I were throwing around were EB Green's and Salvatore's, so that price range or a bit lower is what I'd be looking for.

We'll probably have around 18 people, so the restaurant would also need to be able to accommodate a larger group.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or recommendations!

  1. With a group that size and for something a cut above average, I think you're on the right track with Salvatore's. The problem is that a group that size needs space and that rules out a load of locations. If you want good quality, not many restaurants like say, Daniels or Hutches , etc. could do well with the group size. Maybe Chef's? You might look at http://www.cse.buffalo.edu/restaurant... for more ideas.

    1. I attended a large (25 people) party at Tempo on Delaware, and it was fantastic. We were put in the upstairs room, so there was plenty of space. The food is outstanding there, as well. It would absolutely be my choice over some place like Salvatore's, but maybe that's just my taste.

      1. Not sure with a group that size, but I would call Tempo, Rue Franklin, Bacchus or Lombardo (on Hertel).
