CAZ DINNER PARTY SUGGESTION - BIG MISTA

So we had some friends over yesterday (four adults, one child) and had no time to cook -- wanted to pick up something different and fun for our friends... first thing in the morning went to the Atwater Farmers Market and picked up BBQ fr BIG MISTA. Dinner was a big hit and wanted to share.

So here's what I picked up for party of 4-5: got TWO sampler plates (each sampler serves about two people) and TWO large baked beans . At first, I thought I got too much bb but man, everyone devoured them. Total came to $48. Picked up rolls and cole slaw at the market as Big Mista didn't have mac&cheese that day. And for dessert, also at the Farmers Market, picked up a TRI-BERRY pie from MARCIE'S PIES ($13). Yum!

Let me just say, dinner was a huge hit -- and for food alone, ran us, what, $70. For party of five, that's pretty good. I'm sure I would have spent more if I cooked.

So just wanted to give a shout out to Big Mista!

Just want to share the Big Mista enthusiasm. Your post reminded me of how great they are, and I got my fix at the Torrance farmers market this past weekend. We had tried them a couple of times previously, and it had been very good. But this weekend the Perfect Pulled Pork sandwich was BBQ nirvana. It was just, well, perfect. The "perfect" differs from the other sandwiches in that it has the slaw on top of the sandwich, and the freshness and crunch is a perfect complement to the smoky, sweet, spicy pulled pork meat. The meat is always very good, but sometimes there are pieces that are a little tough or a little fatty, but this Sat every bite was perfectly tender and delicious. One of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. Actually, their perfect pulled pork reminds me of the pork belly sliders at Animal, which are also amazing. The only catch is that it's a little dicey as a sandwich per se, because the bun gets soggy from that delicious sauce. My husband devours it with sufficient speed that this doesn't present a problem for him, but I need to eat it with a fork. But I'm not complaining, I love that sauce!
