wassup with Sea Salt?
We went back to Sea Salt last night, eager to enjoy another meal there. But we had such a lackluster server, I was wondering if this was simply an off nite, or if other 'hounders had a similar experience.
We waited 15 minutes before our server came over to greet us.
When the grilled squid finally arrived at the table, it was room temperature. After we were able to flag down the server, and asked if that was appropriate, he said it was s'posed to be hot, and took the plate back to the kitchen. When he returned, he had a much smaller plate, with the remaining squid -- which had been re-cooked. So now we had warm, but over-cooked squid...
The rest of the meal was delicious. And the fellow who kept refilling my water glass was super.

Sounds like you had one bad dish and a lousy waiter. That happens every now and then at their restaurants. Those servers don't last long. What else did you have?
Time of day and day of the week can matter. Despite the deals, I kept away from the happy hour at shift change since everything was always a bit off.
