Help, where to eat & food scene in Helsinki

i can anyone help me, speaking in Helsinki next week and what to explore the food scene whilst there, can anyone recommend why to eat and food shops, markets etc to visit

  1. Not sure if it is too late for you, but you can check out the indoor food market right next to the harbor near the foot of Esplanadi. It is small and not inexpensive, but there are a number of vendors there. When you step outside, you can sometimes see boats with people selling fresh fish. Also, there is an outdoor market there as well, which has a number of stalls selling crafts and items for tourists, but there are food and veg stalls there too, where you can order your meal and sit and watch people and boats, nice to do on a pleasant day. If there is a vendor selling muikku, those are very tasty and one of my favorite Finnish foods. Tiny fried fish, you pop the whole fish in your mouth and eat it, tiny bones and all. Not sure if they are seasonal or not.
