Are there any new farmers's markets opening in the FFD area? or thricks to getting only organics?

That is not an arm and a leg? Need this for my health but i can't spend too much any ideas? I really thank you in advance for your most creative and real places I can go and be very healthy for my groceries/

CSA's are great. many farms do not get their "organic" certification due to the expense and red tape. however, if you talk to them, most are more than happy to tell you how they grow your food. Buying a share is definitely cheaper than going to the farmer's market but you also get products you might not eat as much.

I agree....unfortunately most of the ones in the Boston area at the markets DO spray, if you ask them.

I can't speak directly to CT, but the Farmer's Markets in the Boston area are not remotely organic. Fresh, yes, but usually not organic if you ask them. CSAs are usually your best bet....and MUCH less expensive on the whole. I find Farmer's Markets to be quite pricey, actually.

Lots of great places in FFD county. My family orders thru a CSA (community supported agriculture) in which we get a basket of fresh veggies from a local farm every week.
Here's a list of farmer's markets for 2010. The Westport one is great in my opinion.

Westport has a CSA pickup located on Cross Highway at Bedford Middle School...which has its own garden/veggies too. http://stonegardensfarm.com/CSA.htm and you can read about it here: http://westportgvi.org/NewNews.aspx
