Rome Pizza on Sunday

What Pizzerias are open on Sunday? I'm having lunch at Taverna dei Foro Imperiali so i'm just looking for a light lunch in the evening.

What about Sunday afternoon? Any good pizza to be found between 2-5pm?

Nope. The pizza al taglio shops are likely to be all closed, and the sit-down pizza don't open until dinner time. Sunday is a big pizza night.

The best, a Roman institution, albiet loud, crowded, full of locals, and quite zany. Pizzeria Da Baffeto on Via del Governo Vecchio, just off Piazza Navona. See their site at www.pizzeriabaffeto.it There is a menu listing too. As you can see it is an excellent value as well as some of the best pizza in Roma. Evenings only, open late.

ospreycove, again, you are giving the most touristic and not chow-worthy recommendation. Da baffetto is interesting, but not the best. There are da Remo, Ivo, Ai Marmi, Montecarlo and some more before that.

Katie, you are right of course, remo is closed on sundays, might be the only one doing that. I got caught in a general recommendation frenzy and didn't think about the sunday requirement.... :)

Sunday night is actually a pretty big night for going out for pizza in Rome, so I wouldn't worry about them being closed. Keep in mind though, that nearly all pizzerie in Rome are closed on Mondays. Buon appetito - and if you find a great pizza, please report back!

They are virtually all open on Sunday evening.
