Just used KItchenaid Artisan Mixer to make bread-The maiden flight!

Never used it before for that purpose, and I am amazed.

The bread i made was fairly basic- 3 cups bread flolur, 1 cup barley flour, barley malt, yeast and salt and 1 1/4 cup water.

Used the dough hook. Put all the ingredients in the mixer bowl and WOW

I could not believe how fast it kneaded that dough into a nice supple, non stickey ball! I was dumbfounded. It took maybe 3 minuntes. It would have taken me at least 10.

So i give props to the Kitchenaid mixer- if you are a serious bread maker, you should get one of these.

    1. I just finally broke down and got the KitchenAId Architect stand mixer so I'll be looking forward to trying it for bread making too! Congratulations!!

      1. Congratulations! I have arthritis in my wrists, and kneading always was painful and often was incomplete, when I tried to make bread by hand. So, just recently ($40 rebate!) I sprang for the KitchenAid Professional 6 quart, myself, with the MOST amazing dough hook! You're right: the bread comes together so fast it's almost incredible. I've been making even whole wheat breads with great success...
