fun, delicious 60th birthday dinner for 10
Looking for a fun place to celebrate a 60th b'day w/ 10 women friends. Someplace very New York (whatever that means!). Warm atmosphere. Not too noisy. Small and intimate would be nice, but not essential. In Manhattan. And, goes w/out saying, w/ fabulous food. Thinking some kind of ethnic. Italian? Chinese? Mediterranean? Entertainment optional (eg. jazz in the background). Looking to spend around $35 a person.

$35 is not much at all in NYC. Should that $35 incl tax, tip? Drinks?

I did a 60th birthday party for my mom at Congee Bowery. We had a very good chinese banquet in a private room (they have a bunch as does their sister restaurant congee village). The price is right, and for entertainment, if you you choose, each room has a karaoke set up. I didn't think my mom's friends would do it, but a few beers in the mic started getting passed around and our dinner party turned into a karaoke fest. It was a great time.
