DINNER and a Movie
Anyone have a good recommendation for a great meal located near a movie theater? Too often, we find ourselves with the meal as an afterthought when we are heading to a movie and end up at a Chipotle.
I'll kick things off with Tea House at Betty Crocker Blvd and Hwy 169. There's a theater right across the parking lot.
But when we're not in the mood for Chinese, my mind draws a blank.
Highland Theater in St. Paul+ Punch or Highland Bakery (in the strip mall on Ford Parkway a door or two down from Leeann Chin's) for their limited Nepalese menu.
Grandview Theater in St. Paul+Heartland Wine Bar (a few blocks over)...
IMAX movie at the Science Museum+Meritage.
My fav combo: Dari-ette Drive in + Vali Hi theater for the all-drive-in experience (not for physical proximity, though)
410 Saint Peter St, Saint Paul, MN 55102
Szechuan, the new place that took over for China Jen, is by Rosedale, and Barley Johns is only a couple of miles.
Chimborazo for the Heights theater, but if you're on Central Avenue and wind up eating Chipotle, you've done something very wrong.
Kabob's is quite close to the Mall of America.
Sandy's Tavern (skip the faux upscale Tavern on France) for Southdale.
Salut or Edina Grill for Landmark 50th and France.
There seems to be no end of Indian restaurants at the Arbor Lakes uber-complex in Maple Grove.
Lucias for the Uptown/Lagoon theaters.
McCoys for Mann SLP.
China Jen Restaurant
2193 Snelling Ave N, Saint Paul, MN 55113
5028 France Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55410
Tavern on France
6740 France Ave S, Minneapolis, MN
6612 Penn Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55423
ooh this is fun. similar to below when we go 'out' for a special dinner & movie we do the heights + something - holy land, etc -- too much good stuff up there to list 'em all.
for a more simple night out at the riverview stop by glaciers cafe before AND after for ice cream :-)
last one - IMAX at the zoo after satay2go in apple valley.. we haven' t done that for ages!
