I need Puebla-style Chalupas!

lbtarr Apr 23, 2010 07:16 PM

I lived in Puebla, Mexico for 3 months and on every late night I would enjoy the chalupas from the stands all around town. I now live in Los Angeles and every Mexican restaurant I go to doesn't have chalupas! I'm going crazy looking for a good place to have good chalupas. No Taco Bell crap, but just the fried tortilla with red or green or both chile, meat, cheese and onions. Very simple. Why does no one make these?

Please help me on my chalupa in Los Angeles hunt.

Cemitas y Clayudas Pal Cabron has these and the Guelaguetza restaurants do, too. I believe the 8th St. location does.

Please let s know when you find it. Have you done a search on Yelp? There is a Puebla restaurant on San Fernando Rd. & Los Feliz, about 4 doors from Dinah's Fried Chicken. It is in the same strip mall.

      Dinah's Fried Chicken
4106 San Fernando Rd Ste A, Glendale, CA 91204
