Embargo, Hyannis

I know a lot has been said about Embargo, but I can't help praising it again.

Husband and I went Saturday (they have happy hour every day 4:30-6 with half price tapas and .99 oysters.) Frankly I would (and have) happily paid full price for their menu. We actually had dinner reservations somewhere else, but were killing time with a drink and then had some 'snacks.' I had the braised short rib, my husband had a half dozen oysters. I had to tear myself away, the food and atmosphere are just so great. We always sit at the bar and chat with the bartenders (all very knowledgable about the menu.) I prefer Saturdays on the weekend because they have live jazz and it's not too loud.

Everything I've ever had here has been great. The 'tapas' name is a bit misleading as the portions are very generous. It seems very upscale (space and menu) but it's a nice, relaxing place. The food delivers consistently.

I always look forward to my stop here as part of my weekend on the Cape. I don't look forward to the day they will (eventually) stop the happy hour!
