Looking for some of the best seafood restaurants of the city
Hello, I am looking for some of the best places in Toronto for seafood. Specifically crab, and if possible crawfish. Although I welcome places that do other seafood really well aswell. Please let me know what ever the place does best (be it crab or something else).
Thanks!

I haven't been, but I was just looking at the menu online for Big Daddy's and crawfish is on the menu, as are snow crab and king crab. Crawfish appeared in a few of the dishes. I'm assuming that both the crawfish and crab are frozen at the source.

re: 1sweetpea
big daddy's is not a good source of seafood at all... we went a while back and sat near the kitchen and it smelled of bad fish. needless to say we didn't order and left. yes they have crawfish but i doubt it's fresh.
rodney's does source a lot of seafood for most of the reastaurants in the city. if you call them and chat them up about crawfish they might tell you which restaruants serve them (fresh).

I dont see Toronto and Seafood Restaurants going hand in hand. As you can see Timmychanga there are a few restaurants being suggested. Been to Zee, Josos, and Chaido but to me, these are restaurants that happen to have seafood on their menu. Are they good? Sure? But they are nothing close to what I would consider best place for seafood in Toronto because I dont think we have any. You need to live or visit a city which is near the sea/ocean to really enjoy a great fresh seafood meal especially anything with clams.

Joso's

For a selection of whole grilled fish, Joso's, Zucca and Peri Peri on Dupont (in descending order of price). Best fried calamari in the city is at Joso's.
I haven't seen a credible crawfish dish in TO in many years.
For the best treatments of crab I would suggest Anjappar Chettinad or Debu when the crab 3 way is on the menu.

re: Snarf
Would have recommended Starfish until last weekend. Went on Sat night and dinner took 3 1/2 hours. It was an hour (and into a second bottle of wine) before we even got our order of oysters. To top it off - they were out of lobster! At 7:30 on a Sat night. BTW we were also served room temp coffee at the end of our meal. It was a dissapointment after previous experiences there. Hopefully just an off night.

Starfish would be my pick too... but I agree with JennaBean that it's more of an oyster and lobster place, in my experience.
Some really like Zee, but I haven't been there so I can't speak firsthand.
Malena, which is new, has a stone crab claw on the menu and lots of seafood.
Joso is also a classic for seafood. Or Chiado... but again, your specific requests for crabs and crawfish... I'm not so sure.-----

Visited Inatei last weekend. The place was packed.Noticed they had 8 to10 type of fish on the board. Kinmedai, Ishigakidai, Shim Aji, Aji, Tobiuo, Isaki, Kawiari, Kawahagi, Sayori ......What a wide range of selection. They are reasonably priced. Tried an order of Kinmedai sashim that costs $19.99 for 3 pieces. It was really really good. Will head back again this weekend to try other fish.
