East Village Breakfast

I'm looking for casual restaurants or cafes that are open at 9 a.m. (or earlier) and serve good weekday breakfast in East Village other than Cafe Yaffa and Veselka. Any recommendations?

Thank you so much for all the recs! I think the next spot will be Northern Spy Co. as I've been wanting to go there for a while. I will eventually get to most of them in next few weeks!

the Best Egg and Cheese Sandwich I have ever had was Barnyard Cheese store last weekend. 9th and C. Not a sitdown restaurant, a little store that makes sandwiches to go along with their selection of cheese and meat. There is a table out front, but better yet is sit in the garden across the street and watch the turtles in the pond.

I cannot tell you how amazing this was. Thick cut bacon, fresh eggs, and some perfectly melted light cheddar on warm fresh bread. The bread was similar to cuban sandwich bread, baguette shaped, not too thick or thin and very soft so it didnt squish out the eggs and cheese.

I could go on forever, it was fantastic and totally justifies its $6, which seemed expensive for what I thought would be a regular breakfast sandwich. OMG I'm there tomorrow.
