Nassau County - someplace for a very special birthday celebration

We are celebrating my dad's 80th birthday & would like to take the family for a very memorable dinner. Nice atmosphere, fabulous food! We have one vegetarian & one who needs plain food. The rest of us eat everything.

We're only going to be 5, a family dinner. We live on the south shore but north shore & central Nassau are fine too. Want it to be something out of the ordinary though, with really good food.

We've always been pleased with Per Un'Angelo at the Jones Beach hotel.

you should check out r.s. jones in merrick. fun place, great food and very hospitable. i believe they will take a reservation for 5. one of my favorite places. they are fine with kids too if that helps.

if you dont mind driving out to suffolk south, the lake house is a wonderful place for a dinner like that.
