Crepe Stand at Meritage
Meritage in St Paul opened a crepe stand this year and are serving on Tues and Thurs from 11-4. I work downtown and was eager to try it. They twitter the fillings on the day of, one savory - one sweet.
I finally made it there today. $4 for a good sized crepe. Today's savory is asparagus and emmentaler. Verdict. Pretty good. The asparagus is crisp and tastes like spring. The emmentaler is wonderfully nutty. I had to bring it back to work to eat, so it got cold. But was piping hot off the stand when I got it, so no fair to ding them there.
Two griddles running. No line when I got there at 1:15.
Yum. I'll be back.

Tried out the Meritage crepe stand on Tuesday.
The savory crepe was a sort of chicken spread or salad. There was a specific name for this preparation of chicken, but I don't remember what it was. It had a nice, white wine and thyme flavor to it. Enjoyed it quite a bit.
The sweet crepe was chocolate and orange. I split this three ways with friends. Unfortunately, my portion lacked chocolate syrup (I saw it oozing out of my friends' portions), so I can't comment on how it was (it was boring without the syrup - just a mellow chocolate flavored crepe with an orange segment).
I'll definitely be back - how nice to order and eat outdoors in our fair city!

re: LiaM
I had a nutella crepe the first day the Meritage folks were outside. It was good, but the nutella wasn't well spread around the crepe, so some bites were lacking. I look forward to trying another once they've worked out all their kinks.
Maison Darras in the skyway downtown St. Paul is also serving crepes on a daily basis over lunch. A little cheaper ($3.60, I think) and all sweet flavors for the time being - sugar, nutella, orange marmalade, and others. I had a butter & sugar crepe that was better than the one from Meritage.
