Pre- Marathon Meal in Nashville, Post celebration dinner and Sunday Brunch ideas?
My hubby and I are coming to Nashville to run our first marathon this weekend (ok, his first full, my first 1/2). Needless to say, Friday night is not a time to be trying new foods, or heavier "southern fare" (which this B'ham girl loves). We are staying in Franklin area, but will be heading to the Expo at the convention center downtown. Would like a nice, casual, local option for Friday night...Italian would be good. Now after that is all done, if we can still move, a fabulous dinner and drinks are in order. I like the sounds of City House and DH has read about Germantown Grill??? (something like that), but we can't commit to a reservation since we may just be passed out in the hotel. In which case Pucketts in Franklin would be our choice. The most important meal will be Sunday Brunch so bring on the suggestions!!! Thanks in advance and pray for the rain to hold off till noon Saturday!!!

This Hillsboro Village spot is the best home style Italian food I've had since I left NY 35 years ago. We were there with my brother and his family and were getting a little edgy because the food was slow in coming. After it came the table was silent (unusual for us) and occasionally we would look at each other in disbelief.

Tin Angel on West End has a fantastic brunch. Germantown Cafe in the Germantown neighborhood is great. Margot in East Nashville is also fantastic.
If you want to go the all-you-can-eat/buffet route, Copper Kettle (downtown and Granny White locations) has an incredible brunch buffet with everything you could imagine on it - very good food. Finally, Monell's in Germantown has a "Sunday Meal" that is a bona fide Southern feast.
Good luck in the race!
