Candlenuts (kukui) where to buy?

polaco Apr 21, 2010 09:28 AM

I need to buy raw Candlenuts for a project at school, anybody knows where I could find them?

Candlenuts are also known as Kukui nuts (hawaii), Kemiri (Indonesia) or Indian Nut.

I do not know where you are located but this Dutch store carries many Indonesian items and definitely Candle nuts www.hollandsbest.com/english/

Latest word: I found them at the Richmond Ranch 99 Indonesian foods section 7oz cello pack shelled for $1.69. I suspect all 99's will have them.
        Looks similar to this.

I will take a look. I am in need of raw candlenuts, not de-shelled ones. That might be tricker!

let me know if you have any more tips!
